Ralph William Kimball 1934 - 2017
Ralph William Kimball, 82, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Ralph was born March 8, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Beatrice (Henson) Kimball, a sister, Marie Goodlett and his beloved wife, Shelbia “Sissy” Kimball. He was a member of Rockwood Missionary Baptist Church, but considered Union Missionary Baptist Church a second church home. He served his country in The United States Navy and he retired from INCO/Special Metals. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his granddaughters. He is survived by two children Angela (John) Hayes and Terry (Robin) Kimball and four granddaughters that were his pride and joy, Abbey and Anna Kimball and Chloe and Ella Hayes. He had a very special caregiver, Joan Barker, who spent nearly every day with him after he lost his wife in September.
A very special thank you to the staff at Cabell Huntington Hospital, and especially those nurses in the ICU, Cindy, T.J., Melanie and Daphne who cared for him during his final hours. Friends may call at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio on Sunday from 12 to 2 p.m. Funeral will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Matt presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point. Considering the close passing of Sissy and Ralph, the family respectfully requests that expressions of sympathy be made through cards only.
