Ralph Michael Virgin's Obituary
Ralph Michael Virgin, passed away on August 27, 2024, at the age of 79 in Ashland, KY, where he was also born on April 14, 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Doris Barber Virgin of Westwood. Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Karen Sue Moore Virgin. They were just shy of celebrating their 53rd anniversary. He leaves behind his children, Ron Virgin (Jessica) and Cassie Murphy (Jim). Ralph was an adoring Papoos to Tori Campbell (Isaac) and Lauren Virgin, and a proud Pawpaw to LJ Murphy and Ace Michael Murphy, among many other cherished kiddos. He also leaves behind six siblings and their families. Ralph was a retired employee from Armco/AK Steel and an enthusiastic member of the Troubadours golf group. His passions included golfing, hunting, and fishing. He cherished his life and the time spent outdoors at the baseball fields. In his years of service with the US National Guard, Ralph stood committed to the values of duty and community, a testament to his character both in uniform and out. In line with his wishes, there will be no services. Ralph's family kindly requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Ashland Baseball Boosters at 4891 Sherwood Dr, Ashland, KY 41101, or to Hope's Place Child Advocacy Center at 1100 Greenup Avenue, Ashland, KY41101, to honor his passion for supporting children's activities and well-being.
