Raymon Earl Cooper's Obituary
Raymond Earl Cooper, 87, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully surrounded by care and friendship on Friday August 1, 2025. Born to William and Lucinda Cox Cooper, Raymond grew up in a large family and was preceded in death by his brothers Walter, John, Paul, George (Dick), Lawrence, Joseph, and his sister Anna Marie (Cooper) Adkins. Over the years, Ray wore many hats: from running a Boron Oil gas station to working as an investigator for Blue Knight Investigations. Earlier in life, he taught roller-skating at Camden Park, worked security at ACF Industries, and spent time at Kinney Shoes. He approached every job with diligence and pride. Ray was married to Linda Lou Verbage and Anna Jean Hill, both of whom preceded him in passing. He is survived by his son Michael Cooper of Lexington, KY, his stepson Daniel (Helen) Cook of East Berlin, PA, three grandchildren Mandi Cook (Jason) of York, PA, TJ (Christy) East Berlin, Kate Johnson (Mike) of Houston, TX, three great-grandsons Ian and Braiden Cook and Alexander Johnson. and his dear friends and caregivers Mel and Becky Davis of Barboursville. A private service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to honor Ray’s memory may do so with a donation to a favorite charity. There will be no services.
