Raymond Eugene Howard's Obituary
Raymond Eugene Howard went to be with his Lord on Sunday March 25th 2018 at the age of 86 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Huntington, West Virginia, to Robert Selby Howard and Blanche Marie Howard (Smith). Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, older siblings Margaret, Betty and Leonard, also his stepdaughter Mandy, step granddaughter Stacey. He is survived by his wife Marie, son Raymond Jr, stepchildren Rab, Janet and Sharron. Brother Richard and sister Mary, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, countless friends in San Antonio, across the United States and Worldwide. Raymond joined the navy after high school and served during the Korean War aboard the USS New Jersey. After the Navy he then joined the Air Force, during which time he served in the Vietnam War. Raymond served his country for a total of 22 years military service.
Raymond was a Mason for 52 years and during that time he held the positions of 31st, 32nd and 33rd Degree and Past Wishful Master. He was also a Past Potentate in the Shriners. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St Judes Childrens Hospital @ shop.stjude.org Visitation, 6pm 8pm., April 17, 2018 at Mission Park North. A Celebration of Life will be at 11 am., April 18, 2018 at True Vine Baptist Church. Interment will follow at 1:15 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
