Richard "Rick" Barbour's Obituary
Richard K. Barbour (Rick), age 92, passed away peacefully in his home in Willow Wood, Ohio on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Rick was born in 1933 in the Huntington, WV area. He was raised on a farm with his parents and older sister Charlotte. As a teenager, he played football for Barboursville High School and was a champion in the Golden Gloves boxing tournament. He served in the US Army in the mid-fifties and traveled all over the world. Rick was always a real outdoorsman, an avid fisherman and hunter of deer, wild turkey and pheasant. Throughout his life, he was a real ‘people person’ and never hesitated to help a neighbor when needed. Rick always had a big smile and a funny comment. In the last few months of his life, he had many caregivers in facilities and at home; he was everyone's favorite because of his cheerful and grateful attitude. Rick is survived by his wife, Myrna Loy Conrad and his three children; Connie Courts of Lexington, KY; Kelley Marksbury of Nashville, TN, and Richard Barbour of Willow Wood, OH as well as ten grandchildren. Services for Rick will be held at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH on Saturday, June 20th. Public visitation is at 1:00 pm and the funeral service is at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow at Centenary Cemetery in Chesapeake, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed at https://ehallfuneralhome.com
