Richard Albert Henderson, 93, of Charleston, WV passed away Wednesday June 10, 2026 at The Hubbard Hospice House Charleston, WV. He was born December 17, 1932 in Hundred, WV to the late Rex Roscoe and Willa Katherine Jett Henderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Josephine “Jo” Henderson; and two brothers Rex Henderson and Charles “Bud” Henderson. He is survived by two daughters Sue Thompson and Donna (Mark) Brock; six grandchildren Brandon (Kim) Thompson, Jenna Compton (Ramsey), Evan Mullins, Trevor Mullins, Savannah Brock (Taylor Harrison), and Gabriella Brock (Jaden Perry); five great grandchildren Satya Thompson, Finn Compton, Theo Compton, Paizlee Jo Harrison, and Parker Harrison; brother David (Bobbie) Henderson; and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Main Street Church of Christ Culloden, WV. Richard was a proud Navy veteran who faithfully served his country and carried that same sense of dedication and responsibility throughout his life. Following his military service, he worked at the Marion County Board of Education until his retirement, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and kindness to those around him. Richard will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering love for his family, and the wisdom that comes from a life filled with experience, perseverance, and grace. His stories, guidance, and steady presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His bond with his late beloved wife Jo was a testament to enduring commitment, and he carried her memory in his heart every day. Richard’s family will forever treasure the time they had with him and hold his memory close in their hearts. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday June 21, 2026 at Main Street Church of Christ Culloden, WV.
