Richard David Johnson, Jr.'s Obituary
Richard David Johnson Jr, 51, entered into eternal rest with our Savior, Jesus Christ on April 12, 2024 at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House. He was born on April 30,1972, son of the late Richard David Johnson and Laverne Shippy. He is a graduate of Marshall University with a bachelor's degree in Business. Dave was a skilled laborer that took great pride and integrity in all of his work. Dave devoted his time with his sweet daughter riding bikes, attending her sporting events, movie nights, playing video games and teaching her about the love of Jesus. He took on the role of bonus dad and loved Christian as his own. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Denise Jeffery Johnson, his bonus son, Christian Taylor, and his pride and joy, daughter Sophia Grace Johnson. Dave totally surrendered his life to Jesus. He was a great man of faith. His favorite place was Expression Church of Huntington where he was a faithful attendant, member, greeter, and usher. He also leaves behind his sister Jenette Johnson, nephews, Jose (Maddie) Guzman & Christian Hardy, niece, Morgan Johnson, great niece, Gia Paige Guzman, sister-in-law, Angela Clare (Greg), niece, Libbi Milam, great nephews, Zeke and Mac Milam and his 4-legged best friends and companions Smitty & Judah. Funeral services will be held at his church, Expression Church of Huntington, 115 Cheshire Way, Huntington, WV, officiated by Pastor Kevin West on April 16, 2024. Viewing will be 4-6pm with service starting at 6pm. A balloon release will be immediately after the service. Hall funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
