Robert E Bayer's Obituary
ROBERT E. "YOGI" BAYER, 80, of South Point, OH, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, October 5, 2012, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Minister Mark Aites officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, OH, with military honors. Robert was born April 6, 1932, in Columbus, OH, a son of the late Carl and Cleo Hunter Bayer. He was a retired engineer with C&O Railroad and a member of South Point Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Lynn Bayer; one grandson, Theodore "Teddy" Bayer; and four siblings, Vernon "Buster" Bayer, Margaret Kilbarger, Paul Bayer, and Cliff "Morris" Bayer. Robert is survived by his wife, Nellie Hall Bayer; four children, Tina (Chuck) Marcum, Robert E. Bayer, Jr., Sonya (Todd) Peters, and Annette Bayer; six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and three siblings, Norma Lumbert, Jim Bayer, and Mary Lapointe. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.schneidergriffin.com.
