Robert O'neal "Bob" Moore's Obituary
Robert O’neal “Bob” Moore, 81, of South Point, OH, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Riverview in South Point, OH. He was a Cabell County native born at Salt Rock, WV, on January 8, 1944, the seventh son of the late Walter and Ruby Viola Scott Moore. Bob served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for 28 years at the Huntington Owens-Illinois plant until it closed and worked at other various jobs until he retired. Bob was a member of the South Point Masonic Lodge #497, The order of the South Point Eastern Star Chapter 404, American Legion Post 640, Scottish Rites, and a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey O’neal Moore and his brothers, Kenneth O’dell Moore, Leland Darrell Moore, Harold Lee Moore, Bernard Roy “Buddy” Moore, Charles Raymond Moore Sr., and Gary Allen Moore. He is survived by his sister, Joyce Ann Moore Burcham of Chesapeake, OH; sister-in-law, Edna Moore of South Point, OH, and Patricia Moore of Proctorville, OH. Bob accepted Jesus Christ into his life on March 23, 2019, while in the hospital, witnessed by his brother-in-law, Jack R. Burcham. Bob loved to coon hunt with his coon dogs and had a garden where he gave the veggies to his friends. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the funeral home. South Point Masonic Lodge #497 will conduct Masonic Rites at 7:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Lou Ashworth, officiating. Burial will be held at Miller Memorial Gardens in Miller, OH, with graveside military honors. Bob’s family would like to give a big Thank You to the nurses and doctors at Riverview nursing home and Hospice of Ohio for their care and compassion they gave Bob. He will be greatly missed by all.
