My sincere condolences to the Shell family. Truly a man loved by all whom have had the privilege of meeting and knowing him both personally, and in business. 1978 seems as though it was just yesterday. A new division of a company almost as old as Guyan. Felt like Permco would be a great addition to its new mobile power focused business. Through his sage guidance and support from his team of tireless professionals, our raw staff was up to speed in only a short time. Still supporting regional and local customers to this day. Our success was his success and he truly showed it.

I remember when I first came to the United States, he did everything in his power to help me through my college years at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He took me in like one of his own and never hesitated to support me. Always caring, he told me how proud he was of every single accomplishment I made. He even wrote to my family back home, assuring them not to worry and that I was in good hands. He always took the time to listen to your problems and somehow managed to help you along the way. He truly cared for everyone in his circle. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on forever. Thank you, Mr. Shell. Rest In Peace.

Bob Jr. was a great man with a big heart.
While I was not close with Mr. Shell personally, he has been a driving force in my family (the daughter of Raymond and Joyce Porter) for my entire life. Through his generosity, compassion, and concern for his community, he has built a legacy that will endure for generations. His reach was far and wide, his influence undeniable, and his smile was open, welcoming, and heart-felt. Mr. Shell has made a difference in my life, and will certainly never be forgotten by my family and me. All of our sympathies lie with the Shell family, and we mourn his loss alongside you, from afar.

Bob Jr. was my best friend. We had been together for 45 business and friendship years. Bob was the idea guy. I was the guy that help put it into reality. It was his ideas of open business opportunities in Europe, Africa and China. We worked through the fire that destroyed the offices of Permco in 1982. Being the packrat that he was, when the fire hit he had the only copies of accounts receivable that existed. We worked in trailers as new offices were built.
I knew his dad and mom, wife (Lena) and all the kids. I say kids as that was what they were in 1978 when I came to Permco. I knew as side of him that I doubt most have seen. He was a tough business guy but he was the salt of the earth. So many funny stories I could tell of our ventures. So many acts of kindness too.
My family will miss him. I didn't think he would ever pass away. I felt we would be together forever. He was my boss, and my best friend.
I'm old so I hope all of this makes sense.
Tears fill my eyes. I will miss him so much.
