Mr.Cook was a great guidence counselor at Fairland, and always demanded the best of us. Now after nearly 40 years in private practice as a psychologist , I realize just how skilled he truly was. I have to help out parents and students in North Florida because they do not have a 'Mr. Cook' to handle the challenges that they face. My sympathy goes out to his family .
I am greatly indebted to Bob Cook. I learned counseling at Marshall, but I learned guidance counseling from Bob. He helped pave the way for me to become a counselor at Fairland; because we had different styles and strengths, I was able to focus on things I particularly enjoyed doing with students. We made a good team, but he was clearly the leader - I learned more from him than I could ever say. He was one of the most dedicated people I've known. Only he and Betty could know how many hours he spent working for Fairland. He was devoted, and didn't settle for less than his goal. It didn't seem to matter to him how many hours it took to make things work. He was devoted to making Fairland High School the best it could be. He worked harder for the students of FHS than anyone else in my experience. He knew the students, called them by name, and remembered them! Thank you, Mr. Cook, for everything!
Lori and Family We are so very sorry for your loss. I felt like I knew your father from the stories you used to tell me about him. May your sense of loss and sorrow soon be replaced by the joyful memories that touched many others and by knowing his was a life well-lived. I have found that if you keep a passed loved-one's memory alive, they never really leave you. Our sincere condolences to you and your entire circle of family and friends. Mr. Cook had a profound effect on my life. He always pushed me to be better. His love and encouragement helped make me what I am today. My deepest sympathy to the family. He was such a dear man and will greatly missed.
A darling man... I always remember his friendly manner and him being a wonderful husband and father (and Uncle to myself). May perpetual light shine upon him.
On behalf of the Southern Southeastern Ohio Track & Field Officials Association, I extend our condolences and say that we have lost a great official and friend. Bob went above and beyond the call of duty as an association official and we are extremely grateful for his service.
Mr. Cook is always someone who comes to mind when I think about track. From practices to meets he was there. I enjoyed talking with him and taking in his words of wisdom. He always bragged on his daughter and her long jumping as he watched me attempt to long jump myself. I will sure miss seeing his smiling face when I drive by the school or show up at a track meet. We definitely lost a good man.
