Robert A. Ferguson's Obituary
Robert A. Ferguson 1932 - 2017 Robert A. Ferguson, 85, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Wednesday August 23, 2017 at home. He was born January 18, 1932 in Huntington, WV son of the late Clarence Augustus and Marjorie McLaughlin Ferguson. He is survived by his wife, Julie Ferguson; three children Marjorie Ferguson, Matt Ferguson, Sarah Ferguson Blatt and Eric Blatt; and four grandchildren Ben Ferguson, Lainey Blatt, Anne Blatt and Julie Blatt. He graduated from Huntington East High School and attended Marshall University. He was a lifelong member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, Huntington, WV. He was owner of Clarence Development. He was a Sergeant in U.S. Army serving in Korean War where he was recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars, Commendation Ribbon with metal pendant and United Nations Service Medal. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at 5th Ave. Baptist Church Huntington, WV. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Handley Baptist Church, 585 Church Hill Drive Handley, WV 25102, Huntington YMCA, 935 10th Avenue Huntington, WV 25701 or Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, 1135 5th Avenue Huntington, WV 25701.
