Robert Lee Forrest Nance's Obituary
Robert Lee Forrest Nance, 47, of Lesage, WV, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 7th, 2026. Born on November 10, 1978, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Robert leaves behind a loving family, including his mother, Martha Ann Swain, of Lesage, WV; his step-father, Carl Phillip Swain, of Mount Claire, WV, and his wife, Jill Swain; sister Kimberly and Robb Wilson of Greenup, KY; brother Steven Lee Dewees of Lesage; nieces and nephews Matthew Johnson, Lucas Wilson, Emma Wilson, and Carly Wilson of Greenup, KY; and a special friend, Don Gollihue of Grayson, KY. Robert was a soul with a passion for music, gifted with a natural talent for playing the guitar that brought joy to those around him. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Matthew Nance; his half-brother, Mark Nance; his grandparents, Madeline Dewees, Sue and Ron Samples, Leslie and Juanita Swain; his aunts, Mary Lucas and Sarah Dewees. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, George and Linda Dewees of Milton, WV, Eric and Becky Hall of Glenwood, WV, Dana Lucas of Lesage, WV, and Ruth Kunze of Parkersburg, WV, as well as several cousins. A Celebration of Life potluck dinner will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose of Sharon Church, 1204 State Route 775, Proctorville, OH 45669.
