I didn't know your dad, but I believe my late husband, Roger Adkins, did. He was a heavy equipment operator for CJ Hughes and Columbia Gas. He often talked about a welder name Bob Newland sharing funny stories about their adventures on the pipeline. I feel certain it may have been your dad. Please know that your family will be in my prayers. Your written tribute to him is very lovely.
I enjoyed speaking with Mr. Newland when he would stop by to visit and say hello on his UTV. He cut our fields a few times and was a genuinely nice person. My sincerest condolences to the family.
I worked with Bob for 18 years at Columbia Gas. He was always coming in to talk to me and one of the first to welcome me into the "Lockwood Family". So many of them have passed in just last year. Noelle, your words for your dad was spot on. So sorry to hear about your mom too. Stay strong. Your dad was a hoot and will always be remembered.
