Ronald Eugene Gilmore's Obituary
Ronald E. Gilmore was born on June 4, 1958. He was one of nine (9) children born to the union of George and Virginia Gilmore, whom they reared in Ethel Hollow (Logan County), West Virginia.Ronald received his early education in the Logan County Public Schools system. After moving with his family to Pontiac, Michigan in his youth, he graduated from Pontiac Northern High School. After returning to Huntington, he enrolled in the Step-Up Program through the Huntington Housing Authority and graduated with a certification in Building Maintenance.A skilled handyman, Ronald provided plumbing, carpentry, and remodeling service to many in the Huntington area. In addition, he was employed with the Huntington Housing Authority and later retired from the Big Sandy Arena. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening and perfecting his culinary skills.Ronald departed from this life at his home on September 21, 2023. In addition to his loving wife, Urania, Ronald was preceded in death by both parents, as well as siblings Virginia Gilmore, George Gilmore, Jr., Matthew Gilmore, Wilma Gilmore, and Brian David Gilmore. Left to cherish his memories are his children Ronald and wife Angeline Close, Maeghan Turner-Gilmore, and Christopher Thompson. Also, surviving are his sister, Mary Gilmore, and brothers John Gilmore along with Monroe and his wife Yolanda Gilmore.Ronald will be missed by those that knew and loved him.Funeral Service will be held at 12 P.M. Friday, November 3, 2023, at Full Gospel Assembly. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com.
