Ronald Jay Maynard's Obituary
Ronald Jay Maynard, 79, of Proctorville, OH, passed away on July 18, 2026, at home. Born on June 28, 1947, in Kenova, WV, he was the son of the late Amos and Minnie LeMaster Maynard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Maynard. Ronald was a U.S. Navy Quartermaster E-5 and a Vietnam Veteran. He was a teacher and principal for 13 years for Wayne County and was the Chief of Education of the Veterans Administration in Huntington, WV, for 28 years. Ronald is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Maynard; children, Ron (Amy) Maynard, Ed (Cammie), and Mindi (Cori) Maynard; grandchildren, Matthew Maynard, Haylee Maynard, Morgan Morris, Madison Whittington, Camryn Maynard, and Noah Maynard; great-grandchildren, Malakai Morris, Macklin Morris, Wren Whittington. A Celebration of Life service was held from 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Kenova, WV. A private committal service and inurement will be held at the Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery in Grayson, KY. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Baptist Church of Kenova, WV.
