Royal “Smitty” Smith, 74, of Huntington, WV, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. Born on December 1, 1950, in Huntington, WV, he was the son of the late James and Frankie Johnson Smith. Smitty was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the First Christian Baptist Church in Guyandotte. He is survived by his wife, Joan Smith; sons, Royal (Kristina) Hart Smith II and James (Jackie) Roger Smith; grandchildren, James Roger Smith Jr. and James (Hailey) Royal Smith; great-grandchildren, Gabby, Ari, Novah, Jayce, and Adelina; sisters, Jamie Henry, Carol Jarrell, Dorothy Harris, and Gail Smith; several nieces and nephews; and special daughter and Dolly and Cory Julian. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ray Vance and Pastor Delbert Dixon, officiating.
