Russell David Burriss 1974 - 2017
On Saturday, April 15, 2017, Russell David Burriss, 42, of Kitts Hill, Ohio passed into the arms of the Lord. He was born October 2, 1974 in Huntington, WV. He was the son of Averil “Butch” Burriss and Patricia (Kyle) Phipps, who survive him. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his wife, Kenessa Charlton Burriss; daughter McKayla Burriss; step daughter Donyele Edwards; four brothers and their spouses, Averil “Butchie” (Tracey), James (Anne), Michael (Kristie), and Patrick (Michaela); and many nieces and nephews, Shelsea, Payne (Brandon), Tyler (Karena), Jameson, Connor, Wesley and Vivian which he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Averil Burris, Jr and Merle Burriss; maternal grandparents Russell and Anna Conaway; paternal great grandmother Dora Conn; and maternal great grandparents Ernest and Mindy Stumbo. He was employed by AEP as a Transmissions Forester. He graduated from Fairland High School in 1993 and received a Recreational and Wildlife in Forestry Degree from Hocking College. Russell was loved by all who met him and leaves behind many close friends who will miss him very much. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The McKayla Burriss Educational fund in care of Citizens Deposit Bank 7604 County Road 107 A Proctorville, Ohio 45669.
