Ruth Aulene Parnell's Obituary
Ruth Aulene Parnell, 85, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away at her residence on Sunday, January 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 23, 1938, to the late David and Sadie Ellis Blair. Aulene was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. "Bob" Parnell, their infant son, Robert Scott Parnell, and a sister, Geraldine Woodyard.
She leaves behind a daughter, Pattie (Mark) Hammond; a son, Robert "Matt" (Cathy) Parnell; three grandchildren, Michael Hammond, Nicholas Owen (Tiffany) Parnell and Derek (Emma) Morris; four great grandchildren, Austin, Raelee, Leighton, and Calliope; one brother, Gerald "Buster" (Geri) Blair and several nieces and nephews.
Aulene was a long time member of Big Branch Church in Chesapeake, OH. She was a secretary and retired from Roger Brown Nationwide Insurance Agency in Chesapeake. Aulene was an avid reader and also enjoyed quilting. She spent many summers taking her children to Riverside Pool and being active in the community.
There will be a visitation from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM with Pastor Michael Wright officiating. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, Big Branch Church, Family and Friends for the love, prayers and support shown to Aulene and her family.
The graveside service will take place on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH. Schneider-Hall Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at schneiderhallfuneralhome.com.
