Sammy Joe Hazlett's Obituary
Sammy Joe Hazlett, 79, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Born on May 11, 1945, in Wayne County, WV, he was the son of the late George T. and Frances Christian Hazlett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald Pat, Thomas, Dan, and Kenny Hazlett, and one son, Bobby Joe Hazlett. Sammy was retired from Armco Steel and was a member of Waterloo Masonic Lodge #513 F&AM, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason in Covington, KY, and an El Hasa Shriner. Sammy is survived by his wife, Kathleen Conley Hazlett; son, Don and Bettina Hazlett of Chesapeake, OH; daughter, Billie Jo and Steve Saunders of Chesapeake, OH; grandchildren, Brandon Adkins, Heath (Brooke) Hazlett, Heavin (Oakie Haynes) Hazlett, Amanda (Chad) Todd, and Taylor (Will) Burden; 7 great-grandchildren, Dani Lynn, Brylee, Cayden, Sloane, Hyde, Judd, and Paislee. A private family graveside service will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery in Huntington, WV. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements.
