Sarah Susan Browning's Obituary
Sarah "Susan" Mathews Browning was born May 13, 1955. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House on June 8, 2023.
Susan was preceded in death by her biological father, James Mathews, her step-father, Lyle Harvey (who raised her), and grandson Ezekiel Browning-Smith. She leaves behind; her husband, Dana Browning; daughters; Velvet Browning of Niceville, Florida, and Jessica (Justin Monetti) Browning of Springfield, Virginia; three grandsons, Hunter Browning-Smith of Cleveland, Ohio, Dallas Browning-Smith Fort Walton, Florida; Elijah Browning-Smith, Niceville, Florida; and one great-grandson Jonah Browning-Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; mother, Barbara Woodrum Harvey; sisters Karen Harvey and Samantha (Jeff) Ray; brother Donald (Nancy) Harvey of Nashville, Tennessee.
Susan was married to her high school sweetheart (Dana) for 52 years. She was always kind and giving. Susan lived in eleven different states. She also travelled to Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, and Germany before returning home to Huntington. The most important thing Susan obtained on her travels was the love and admiration of those she met. She excelled in the kitchen and was well versed in multiple cuisines.
Besides being a loving wife and wonderful mother, Susan was an accomplished artist, licensed single-engine pilot, beautiful long-haired Barbizon model, and Product Line Manager for Corning. A woman of many talents and diverse interests, Susan earned her Associates degree in Electrical Engineering from DeVry Institute and was a successful sales representative with Corning company. After retiring from Corning she obtained her Texas Real Estate License where she sold properties in Granbury, Texas.
Private services will be held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to CurePSP at www.psp.org in Susan's name.
Susan will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
