SGT Thomas Ray Cain's Obituary
SGT. THOMAS R. CAIN, USMC, age 54, of South Point, OH, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be 10 AM Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Dr. Scott Mann officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Sgt. Cain was born January 4, 1958, in Huntington, WV, a son of Genevelee Mooney Cain and the late Virgil Curtis "Corky" Cain. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Cain Webb; his brother, Randall Cain; and a special uncle, Herschel Cain. Sgt. Cain is survived by his wife, Maria; his two daughters, Michelle and Brandy and their spouses, John and Jeff; his three grandchildren, Kristian, Jordan, and James; his mother, Genevelee; and his three brothers, Danny, Frank, and Ron. Sgt. Cain served in the Marine Corps from May 29, 1976 to December 31, 1987. His primary MOS was embarkation/logistics and his duty stations included Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms, CA; Okinawa, Japan; and Marine Security Guard, Quantico, VA. After leaving the Marine Corps, Tom was an inkjet manufacturing supervisor in New Jersey, and then worked in construction. Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM Monday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH.
