Shawn D Burcham's Obituary
Shawn D. Burcham, 59, of South Point, Ohio, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday May 21, 2024, at his residence surrounded by family and friends. He was born on June 9, 1964, to Dale Burcham and the late Margery "Betty" Burcham. He was a 1982 graduate of Fairland High School and a retired 30-year employee of The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). After retiring from ODOT, he also worked for True Inspection Services. Shawn proudly served as a volunteer firefighter in Lawrence County for over 30 years. Shawn fought a hard and courageous battle for over two years against stage 4 liver cancer. His fight and courage was an inspiration to many. Shawn was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Burcham; father-in-law Robert Smith, Sr; sisters-in-law Debbie Burcham and Pamela Smith; and brother-in-law Roger Crank. Shawn is survived by his wife of 34 years, Angie; children Nathanial (Amanda) of Ironton, Sashe (Chris) Willis of Proctorville; four precious grandchildren, Preston and Presley Burcham, Ty and Skye Willis. He is survived by his father, Dale (Brenda and her extended family); brothers Stephen (Andrea) Burcham, Scott (Cathy) Burcham, all of Proctorville. He is survived by his sister, Margie Burcham of South Point; mother-in-law, Teresa Orta (Carlos Fugett); brothers-in-law Robert Smith, Jr. of South Point and Wesley (Sarah) Smith of Circleville, Ohio, sisters-in-law Melissa Crank of South Point and Nicole (Avery) Dunn of Proctorville; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday Mary 25, 2024 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio, with funeral services immediately following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Justin Berry officiating. Committal services will be on Tuesday May 27, 2024 at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
