Sherman "Si" D. Stanley's Obituary
Sherman D. “Si” Stanley, 98, of Proctorville, Ohio passed into his Heavenly home on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. He was born October 18, 1920 in Proctorville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Stanley; three brothers; one sister; a beloved grandson, Shane David Stanley; his first wife Alfreda; a second wife Nelma; and a grandson Andrew Thomas. Si was a retired supervisor at B.H. Mott and Sons Core Drilling for 30 years. He was also a proud Army veteran of WWII. Si will be remembered as a friend and brother who could repair any mechanized system and a problem solver. In his retirement he enjoyed woodworking and craft work. His many projects were sold at Bob Evans Farms Craft Barn. He also loved fishing and turkey hunting, and was famous for his fish stories. Si is survived by two sons Bernie and wife Janet, and Gary “Buck” and wife Connie. Sunshine of his life, Troy Buck and wife Stacee; granddaughter Traci (Wayne) Stevens; one sister Doris Elkins; great grandchildren Sherman Stanley, Josh Stanley, Stone and Shane Stevens; sweet step daughters Diane (Chuck) Rodgers and Robin (Walt) Thomas; and step granddaughters Megan and Hannah. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio.
