Shirley Ann Dotson, 80, of Wayne, WV, was born July 9, 1943 in Logan, WV. Sister Shirley departed this life on Sunday December 17, 2023 at 5:30 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Lora Hughes and one brother Richard. She leaves behind her husband George "Doone" Dotson; three children Brian Dotson, Kimberly Dotson, and Merri Carter; four living sisters Leona Chafin, Linda Cates, Wanda Barboza, and Marilyn Slone; one brother Clifford "Skip" Hughes; and a host of nieces and nephews. Sister Shirley was a charter member of The Lily of the Valley Old Regular Baptist Church. She was very sick for a very long time suffering from Parkinsons Disease. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday December 22, 2023 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Brother Skip Hughes, Brother James Slone, and Brother Mike Smallwood. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday December 21, 2023 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
