Stephanie Jane Chester's Obituary
Stephanie Jane Chester, 65, of Newark, OH (formerly of South Point, OH) went to be with the Lord on Monday August 4, 2025, surrounded by her family at her home.
She is preceded in death by her father John B. Dean. Surviving family are her husband, Thomas Chester, mother, Eleanor Dean, sister, Dianne (Steve) Burcham, brother Tim (Tina) Dean, one daughter Katie (Joe) Burkey, one son Josh (Amanda) Adkins, 5 grandchildren, Chloe, Joey, and Austyn Burkey and Mattox and Josiah Adkins, 4 nieces, Heather (Gary) Sawyers, Hollie (Marshall) Henry, Paiton Dean and Caitlin Collins (Chad Barker) , and many great nieces and nephews.
She was born in Gasaway, WV on December 9,1959 to John and Eleanor Dean. Stephanie graduated from South Point High School and then went on to earn her 3rd year RN degree from St. Mary's School of Nursing. She worked in many different fields of nursing but had found her favorite was administering chemotherapy and infusion treatments.
Each patient, client or person she helped knew she was using her faith in God to try to help and heal them through her hands. Stephanie was a devout Christian who tried to tell everyone the importance of accepting God as their Lord and Savior. She wanted everyone to be in Heaven with her so she can see them again.
Funeral arrangements are set for Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Halls Funeral Home in Proctorville, OH. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 am followed by the funeral services at 11. Rev. Larry Brisker, Rev. Marc Price, Pastor Dan Meek and Chaplin Cheryl Simpson will be presiding over the funeral.
