Stephen Sanford Faust's Obituary
Stephen Sanford Faust, 67, of Proctorville, OH, made his journey to eternity to be with his Lord and his beloved mother on August 18, 2023. He was the precious son of Philip Vincent Faust Jr. and Vera Alice Sanford Faust. He was born on May 4, 1956 in Salem, OH. He is survived by his father, Philip V. Faust Jr.; his loving sisters, Mary Alice McCloskey and Ruth Aleigh Faust and a host of family and friends. Steve was a graduate of Fairland High School 1974 and attended Kentucky Christian College. He retired from Snyder's of Berlin as a route Salesman. He also had been employed by Big Bear, Harts Family Center and Coca Cola. Steve made numerous life-long friends from all of these establishments. So many friends have loved and cared for Steve. Steve loved his God first and foremost and lived his life as a testimony to his Love. He touched many lives and set an example of how living for God should be. After his love of God, his family came first. Steve was a loving son and helped take care of his mother until her death and his father until Steve's journey no longer allowed it. He was an advisor and protector to his two sisters. Even from his hospital bed, his worry was for his family and not for himself. Steve was an avid photographer. He loved taking pictures of the beautiful gifts God gave us in nature. His photography made him known to any across the United States and the World. Some of his photography was published in China and Dubai as well as in the United States. Locally his pictures have appeared in the Ironton Tribune, Country Living and the Herald Dispatch. The beautiful horses of the Kentucky Horse Park were one of his favorite things to photograph. He loved the horses and the horses loved him. Watching him interact with the horses, some of which were famous championship horses, was amazing. His photographs have been used in tributes and memorials for some of those horses. He also met and photographed the famous Budweiser Clydesdale Horses. He also made many human life-long friends during his time volunteering at the Kentucky Horse Park. Steve's family would like to thank the staff at Harbor Healthcare for their efforts to aid him through rehabilitation. We also thank the medial staff at King's Daughters Medical Center for the special care Steve received in ICU. These are the people who cared for Steve during the last 4 ½ months of his life. We especially want to thank his friends that visited him and cared for him numerous times throughout Steve's journey. We would like to acknowledge Chris McAdams, Fred and Kathy Denbow and Kathy Cyrus. So many others took time to visit Steve on occasion and we are so thankful to you as well. We are eternally thankful for the many others who continually lifted Steve and our family up in prayer. You will never know what that has meant to us. By Steve's request, in lieu of flowers, he would like donations made in his name to one of the three organizations dear to his heart. They are: Highlawn Church of Christ 2706 Latulle Ave. Huntington, WV 25702, Guyandotte Church of Christ 207 Staunton St. Huntington, WV 25702 and Hall of Champions Kentucky Horse Park https://khpfoundation.org/donate/#tab-id-15.
