We at W.O.W. Ministries Waterloo, want to convey our deepest sympathy to the family of Steven. We would like to share with you a memory of Steven that is from a couple years ago. We were working to revitalize the Waterloo Wonder Memorial garden around our church, and had ordered multiple tons of river stone to cover the landscape. We only had some women available to work at the time to help move gravel on a very hot July day the weekend of the Fourth. Steven had drove by and saw us working and stopped to ask us if we needed help. One of us remarked that it would have been nice to have had a wheel barrow, and he said, "Wait a minute, I will be right back!" Upon his return, Steven unloaded the wheel barrow from the top of his vehicle, and brought it over to us to use. His help did not end there! He proceeded to pick up a shovel, and worked over three hours helping us move gravel. During our work, Steven spoke of his children, how much he loved them, and how he was looking forward to taking them to go see the fireworks. After we had finished for the day, we tried to give him money as a thank you for his help, but he refused. He insisted that he just wanted to help. He was a true blessing to us that day, and we are so saddened to hear of his passing. We pray for God's comfort for you all, at this terrible time of loss.
