Sue Carol Hendrickson's Obituary
Sue Sarrett Martin Hendrickson, 86, of Proctorville, OH, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Born on March 3, 1938, in Beckley, WV, she was the daughter of the late S.C. and Gusta Jarrell Sarrett of Arnett, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Paul Hendrickson; her son, Stephan Martin; sister, Peggy Jane DeSantis, and special friend, Libby Hall. She was a proud mother of four amazing children by a previous marriage, Commodore Tony (Cathy) Martin, Timothy (Tammy) Martin, and Eric (Jamie) Martin; two stepchildren, Paul D. (Mari) Hendrickson and Dana (Kim) Hendrickson Rogers from Goose Creek, SC; brother, Wayne (Beverly) Sarrett; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and special nephew and nieces, Derek Chafin, Andrea, Janet, and Sarah. Formerly of Louisa, KY, Sue was an active member of First Baptist Church where she had a deep love for the members and Pastor Chuck Price. After the passing of her husband, Paul, she moved to Proctorville, OH, to be near her children where she attended the First Baptist Church there. Pastor Jeff and the members were a great inspiration to her, especially "The Merry Widows". She received a degree from Century College of Commerce and attended Marshall University, working on her accounting degree, Sue was a bookkeeper at Kenny Music and worked at Ashland Oil in the accounting department for 20 years. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Jeff Black, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 11:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, WV. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com
