Susan Denise Vanderberg's Obituary
Susan Denise Vanderberg was born July 6, 1953 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. She went to be with her maker on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Susan was a devoted member of the Greasy Ridge Church of Christ and lived by her faith and had a true abiding love of God and fellow man. She was a loving mother, grand-mother and aunt. A real lover of humanity. She had a smile that would light up a room. Everyone who came into contact with her couldn't help but smile in return because her genuineness was so apparent. Susan was an avid reader and loved her favorite TV show Pitt Bulls & Parolees. She loved the outdoors and wildlife, especially birds. One of her favorite past times was to feed and watch the birds from her window. She loved people and hugs and spreading joy. Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Ruurd Vanderberg; her daughter, Hilda Sweet; her parents, Donald and Hilda Pyles; two brothers, Donovan Danford and Ron Pyles. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Bandy and her son, Michael (Love) Robertson; a beloved great uncle, Paul "Russell" Danford; two grandsons, Joseph Sweet and Matthew Kirby; a granddaughter, Holly Spaman; great grandson, Milo Moon; special niece, Carol White; cousins, Gene Nance, Ginger Nance, Sandy Nance, Keith Smith, Joyce Danford and many other cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Susan's memory. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday February 18, 2023 at Greasy Ridge Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Centenary Cemetery in Chesapeake, OH.
