Terri Lea Barker's Obituary
Terri Lea Barker
January 19th, 1980 – August 30th, 2025
Terri Lea Barker, 45, of Ashland, KY, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from a massive heart attack.
Born on January 19th, 1980, Terri was the beloved daughter of Leslie (James) McSorley and the late John Barker. She was the cherished granddaughter of Carol Damron and preceded in death by papaw, Richard Damron.
Terri’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was the devoted mother of three children; David Andrew Evans (21), Kailyn Harper Evans (13), and Hunter Gage Conley (8). She also shared 13 loving years with her longtime companion, Jason Adam Conley. Terri adored her family and extended that love to her “grandchild,” a guinea pig named Norman, who brought her laughter and comfort.
Terri is survived by her sister, Kayla (Matt) Potter; stepbrother James (Ashley) McSorley; and many nieces and nephews who adored her: Madelyn McSorley-Sutton, Emma Potter, Rylee McSorley, Jasmine Rowland, Josalyn Rowland, Kara Lyles, Jace McSorley-Sutton, Carson Potter, Trevor McSorley, Gage McSorley, and Braeden Lyles. She was preceded in death by her stepsister, Jennifer McSorley. And many more extended family members who she loved dearly.
Terri will be remembered for her warm heart, quick wit, and fierce love for her children and family. She had a gift for making people laugh and always found a way to bring light, even in the darkest times. She loved her children more than anything in this world and dedicated her life to giving them love, guidance, and laughter. Terri always put others before herself, showing up with a helping hand, a listening ear, or a joke to lift someone’s spirits.
She often reminded those around her to “kill them with kindness,” and she lived by that message every day through her compassion, patience, and generosity.
She was a loving mother, Gigi, granddaughter, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and she cherished her role in each of those relationships. To know Terri was to know unconditional love, endless laughter, and the comfort of someone who would stand by your side no matter what.
A service to celebrate Terri’s life will be held on a later date.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew and loved her.
