Thea Jay 'T.J.' Short's Obituary
Thea Jay "T.J." Short, of Huntington, WV, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday morning, June 13, 2020, at the age of 50. Thea was a loving father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born on May 7, 1970 in Cleveland, OH and graduated from Huntington East High School. After graduating from Huntington East High School, he entered the Army. He was a petroleum supply specialist and stationed in Germany. Then, he became a father in 1994 and a husband in 2014. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Eva May Short and his father, Larry Short. He is survived by his wife, Kristi Short; his children, Austin Short (Jazmin), Kassidi Thompson, and Jake Thompson (Jessica); his grandchildren, Joseph Lawrence, and Elias Thompson; his siblings, Kim, Laura, and Alan; and mother-in-law Vicki. Thea was a kind-hearted man, full of love, and always smiling. He loved nothing more in this world than God and his family, but also enjoyed cooking, sports, entertaining, and especially singing. He will be remembered as someone who could be counted on, a good Christian, and an inspiration. He will be missed by many. He was an active member of Norway Ave. Church of Christ. Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH, with minister Jeff Garrett officiating.
