I was stunned to learn of the passing of Thelma Scott. Her loss extends far beyond her beloved family as the entire community is heavy laden. What an amazing person and what a remarkable life. We were fortunate that she was a member of our community as she was a source of hope and strength for everyone. Her encouragement helped many and her blithe spirit was a beacon in the darkness of distress.

We will remember her laughter and the sting of her wrath.

Despite our mourning, we have solace in knowing that her mortal end is the beginning of her soul's journey of eternal joy and light. Thelma's faith and devotion was resolute.

It has been said that wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories. So it is with Thelma as her memory will forever live on in the stories, laughter and joy of those whose life she touched.

Where to begin the smile. The praise and the worship. Her testimonies. When I seen her I didn't see her I saw what she wanted me to see and that was her savior. Jesus Christ. And truly she was a beacon a pillar to her church. A light to the ones that she was in their presence. What came out of her mouth was the glory and the honor that she gave her father which art in heaven. And even in the struggles when she would testify she'd still say I'm blessed. So I can say I'm blessed to be a sister of a sister of the same savior. And I will see her one day She just beat me to the crossing. As tears run out of my eyes because I will miss her presents. But my heart rejoices and she would not want me to cry she would want me to praise the name of Jesus cuz she has run her race She has kept the faith. And I would always tell her faith means fully allowing it to help f a i t h. And she'd smile at me said she said yes that's what I do I'll walk by faith and I told her me too so we had that in common. That the Lord gave us a smile and became our best friend and burned all those bridges to the ground. And was our best friend truly sister as a BF sister in the Lord I'm very thankful that God put you in my journey and I will never forget you till we meet again on those streets of gold and sing that song that the angels can't even sing together I can't wait for that day but till then may you rest in peace and the family that I know misses you from your church family to your kids to everybody that ever was a part of who you are we will totally never forget you Love always your sister in the Lord and friend Virginia

in honor of Thelma.

I did not know Thelma well; only met her a few times while visiting my sister, Jeannetta Hornbuckle, who lived next door for many years and Thelma was her hairstylist.
I know the family is friendly, warm, and loving. I kind of bonded a little with her sister Bonnita when she moved to Washington, DC.
I am sending my heartfelt condolences to the family. May your memories put a smile on your face, and have faith and peace knowing God will care for you.
