Thomas Marvin Hinkle's Obituary
Thomas "Tom" Marvin Hinkle, 75, of Crown City, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 24, 1948, in Saltillo, Ohio, to the late Elmo Hinkle and Polly (Embrey) Hinkle. He was also preceded in death by his sister Cathy (Hinkle) Rosser, his brother-in-law Johnny Rosser and his father-in-law, Sam Factor. He was a coal miner for several years before retiring from Thermal Solutions. He graduated from Crooksville High School, Crooksville, Ohio in 1966. He served in the military as a United States Marine from 1967-1970. He is a Vietnam Veteran. He is a member of the American Legion in Roseville, Ohio and the VFW in Crooksville, Ohio. He enjoyed playing the lottery, gambling at the casino, fishing, Nascar and sports especially those that his children and grandchildren participated in. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Penny (Allen) Hinkle, his mother-in-law, Peggy Factor, his sisters Peggy (John) Cassidy, Mona (Mike) Collins, Lori (Rob) Gossman, Gina (Tracy) VanMeter, Amy (Rick) Leach and his brother, Jeff Hinkle. Also surviving are his children, Misty Singer, Chasity Chapman, Carrie (Michael) Hill, Clint (Angie) Hinkle. He has 9 grandchildren, Cody, Shadoe, Shylee, Ethan, Emily, Bailey, Brooklynn, Bentley, Caden and special granddaughter Kennedy "Punky" Harris. He has 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His son, son-in-law, nephews and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation hours will be 12pm - 2pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. Services will be at 2pm following the visitation hours at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Black officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Crown City, Ohio. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the VA Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky for their wonderful care of him.
