Thomas David Lewis, 93, of Ceredo, WV, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Born on October 3, 1931, in St. Albans, WV, he was a son of the late Leroy and Daisy Crouch Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa “Terry” Ary and granddaughter, Angela Quaranta.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy Jean Lewis. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ellen (Ed) Frable, Richard (Rosetta) Quaranta, Frank (Sherry) Quaranta, and Daniel (Angela) Quaranta; grandchildren Chris Quaranta (Kia), Ashley Barebo (Cody), Danielle Quaranta (Morgan Hager), Alexandra Marinich (DJ), Stephanie Quaranta (Michael Platt), Tara Cole (Jeremy), Amber Leech (Patrick), Trey Quaranta, Denise DeRenzis (Jim), Laura Kanton (Bill), Ed Frable (Ashli), Michelle Ary, and William Ary; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He had a heart of gold, and would do anything he could to help others. He loved his family so much. He was a jokester and always kept his loved ones laughing. He especially loved telling stories of his younger years.
He was a hard worker who could do and did, anything and everything. He was an aircraft engine mechanic and crew chief in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged as a Sargent. After that, he held more various jobs than he could count. Some memorable jobs include: dance instructor at Arthur Murray’s Dance Studio; salesman-including but not limited to, fire extinguishers, Bibles, and hearing aids; Huntington Police Department Officer; Federal Protection Officer; and Maintenance Supervisor at a federal building. After he “retired” from his job at the federal building, he continued to work into his 80s. He also enjoyed various hobbies, including woodworking and painting.
There will be no formal services held, with a private celebration of life being held by the family at a later date. Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at schneiderhallfuneralhome.com.
