Thurman Whitted Jr. "JR" 67, of Proctorville, OH, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. He lost his battle with lung cancer and passed away peacefully with his daughter Wendy by his side. He was born on June 25, 1954, and was from Rockford, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents Thurman Whitted Sr. and Betty Lou Whitted. He was also preceded in death by his sister Vera Lynn Whitted and daughter Ashlee Joy Whitted. He is survived by his brother John and Pat Whitted from Mt. Vernon, OH; daughter Wendy Michelle Whitted from Proctorville, OH; and a special loved one, Darlene. He was a retired mechanic and race car driver. He owned Performance Specialty for 23 years. He raced early and late model race cars. His car was #6 "Outta Control." He loved his Harley Davidson, named "Black Beauty." There will be a memorial service held at a later date at Alspach-Gearheart, Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 266, Rockford, OH, 45882.
