TJ "Ted" Jenkins' Obituary
TJ “Ted” Jenkins, 71, of Proctorville, OH, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at home, surrounded by his loving girlfriend and family. He was born February 1, 1955, in Huntington, WV, to Maxine Fuller Jenkins and the late Jesse Allen Jenkins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lee "Bo”" Jenkins. Ted retired after twenty years from Rome Township as Maintenance Supervisor. He was a member of Finley Chapel Church. He served in the United States Army from 1977-1980 at Fort Bliss, Texas, and at Grafenwohr (Tower Barracks) Army Base in Germany. During his time in the military, Ted was an Officer’s Driver and was on Special Detail for General Omar N. Bradley. Ted was a 1974 graduate of Fairland High School and loved deer hunting, country music, and attending NASCAR races (especially the first race of the year at Daytona) with his brother, Cal, and close friends. Ted is survived by his mother, Maxine Fuller Jenkins of Proctorville, OH; one son, T.J. Jenkins, Jr.; brother, Ronald (Shirley) Jenkins; three sisters, Sandy Joseph, Cheryl Jenkins, and Marsha (Charles) Imhoff; aunts, Linda Metz of Columbus, OH and Ruth Ann (Paul) Park of Huntington, WV; and devoted companion, Kathy Jones, along with several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Jason Morris, officiating. Visitation will be held privately for family.
