Tony Keith Griffin 1950 - 2016
Tony Keith Griffin, 66, of Huntington, WV passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born January 19, 1950 son of the late Hershel Ray and Ernestine Poindexter Griffin. He attended St. Peter Claver Grade School and later on in the 60s he went to St. Joe and Huntington High Schools. In the late 60s he went to Huntington Barber College where he learned to master barbering and some male hairstyling. In later years he worked at Dwights Restaurant and helped out in the family owned soul food restaurants The Doo Drop In, Ernies Snak Shak and Youth Land. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Acey Griffin and Ella Hayes Griffin; maternal grandparents James and Nellie Waldon Poindexter; his great grandmother Beatrice Cochran Leftridge; his beloved baby brother Carlos Antonio Alicea; and his grandson Lamar Tavon Gray. He leaves to grieve and share in his fondest memories his oldest and only living sibling Rocky Ray Griffin; his children Tony, Rebecca and Marquette Eans, Anthony Coleman, Desiree Christian. He was a loving grandfather and adored his grandchildren Joshua, QuShaundra, Desmond and Rosalyna Eans, and Corinna Hatten, Malachi Xavier Gray, Anthony Keith Jr., Nilaysia Star and Aalayi Sarai Coleman; and great grandson Juel Berry. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Full Gospel Assembly Church 2101 10th Avenue, Huntington, WV with Bishop Samuel Moore officiating. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Church. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
