Tracy S. Kitchen III.'s Obituary
Tracy Shearer Kitchen III, 80, of Proctorville, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2026. He was born on September 3, 1945, in Huntington, West Virginia. Tracy was a beloved father, grandfather, church member, and friend whose kindness, strength, sense of humor, and booming voice touched the lives of many. Tracy was known for his deep dedication to his family and the pride he took in being a father and grandfather. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as an engineer. He later worked as an electrical engineer at PDP and SMC for more than 30 years, where he was respected for his knowledge, skill, and strong work ethic. Tracy was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Proctorville for 50 years. During that time, he sang in the choir and in a quartet, preached sermons, and joyfully served the Lord alongside his church family. He also served others as a chaplain at the Huntington City Mission and was a devoted member of Gideons International. Tracy loved traveling to the beach, golfing with his sons, and building with his hands. Above all else, he treasured every moment spent with his beloved family. Those who knew Tracy will remember his warm heart, quick wit, generosity, strong work ethic, and his booming laughter and deep voice that could fill a room. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 58 years, Nancy Carol Kitchen. He is also survived by his children: Kerri Coronato (David), Christi New (Brian), Tracy Stephen Kitchen IV (Christi), Michael Kitchen (Tracie), Jonathan Kitchen, and Jennifer Thompson (Alan). Tracy’s pride and joy were his grandchildren: Alyssa Jeffers (Ryan), Matthew Coronato (Morgan), Karley Holdaway (Noah), Micah New, Tracy Hunter Kitchen V (Katie), Lakin Branson (Cooper), Leah Walters (Zane), Rylee Kitchen, Ryder Kitchen, Ezra Kitchen, Bear Kitchen, Tyler Thompson, and Caleb Thompson. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Lydia Jeffers, Abel Jeffers, Julianna Jeffers, Daniel Coronato, and Bauer Branson. He is preceded in death by his parents: Tracy Shearer Kitchen, Jr. and Ruby Gem Kitchen. He is survived by his siblings: Rodney Kitchen and Celia Ward. Tracy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him and in the many lives he touched. His life was a testimony of faith, love, service, and devotion to family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Proctorville, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate his life and share memories. A graveside service will immediately follow at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville, OH.
