Velma Oeda Matthews' Obituary
Velma O. Woodyard Matthews, 80, of Scottown, Ohio passed away Friday November 24, 2023 at home. She was born May 24, 1943 in Proctorville, Ohio to the late Abe and Iris Woodyard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Natalie Bess Matthews; grandson Seth Allen Mathews; great granddaughters Lennox Rae and Landry Beth Ours; and a sister Janet Jones. She is survived by her husband James Mathews, whom she married on January 31, 1960; children Chris Mathews and Marty (Beth) Matthews; grandchildren Morgan (Daniel) Ours and Nick Matthews; great grandchildren Hollis and Holden Ours; brother Jim Mac Woodyard; and sister Nancy Webb. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday November 28, 2023 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with a Celebration of Life service following at 7 p.m. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
