Virgie E Waller Derifield's Obituary
VIRGIE E. WALLER DERIFIELD, 91, of South Point, OH, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 8, 2015, in Jo-Lin Health Center. Funeral service will be 12 Noon Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor James Beals officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Virgie was born November 3, 1923, in Lawrence County, OH, a daughter of the late William Averill and Mary Etta Goings Carrico. She was a member of Getaway Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and played piano for many years. Virgie attended Dawson-Bryant Schools, worked at Sylvania Electric and Perry Novel Shoe Factory before retiring as a seamstress from Huntington Dress Factory. She was also a devoted caregiver to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Waller and Robert Derifield; her sisters, Lella Shoemaker, Helen Ferguson, Geneva Sparling, and Edna Clay; and her brothers, Orville, Clyde, Joe, Earl, Paul Vernon, Don, and Ray Carrico. Virgie is survived by her children, Fred (Jo Etta) Waller, David (Carol) Waller, and Judy (Jim) Beals all of Ironton, OH; her grandchildren, Jami (Eric) Holmes, Aaron (Kathy) Beals, Robin (Bill) Boyd, Michael (Teresa) Waller, Richard Waller, and Jody (Norma) Beals; 12 great grandchildren; and her brother, Harold (Edna) Carrico of Ironton, OH. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH.
