Virginia Ruth Wright Nichols' Obituary
Virginia Ruth Wright Nichols, 88, of Barboursville, WV formerly of Rome Township, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026, at home, The Village at Riverview. She was born October 17, 1937, in Miller, Ohio daughter of the late, Helen Rossiter Pickering and Edmond Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Tom Wright, and a grandson Tyler Nichols. Virginia is survived by her children, Mike (Tammy) Nichols, Mitch Nichols (Kim) and Mickey (Paul) Nichols; two grandsons, Michael Nichols, and Zachary (Ashley) Nichols; one great granddaughter, Bella Nichols; and a brother Eddie (Dianna) Wright. She was a member of Fairland Southern Baptist Church, graduated from Fairland High School Class of 1956 where she was also a cheerleader. She had two jobs during her life, Foard Hardwood Shoe Store and she retired from the American Red Cross. Her enjoyments in life included home decorating, traveling and fashion. The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Village at Riverview, Barboursville, WV, and Hospice of Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2026, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Tracy Tooley officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service on Monday also at the funeral home.
