Vivian Gay Skeens' Obituary
Vivan G. Skeens, 62 of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away February 3, 2025 at Best Care Health and Rehab Center, Wheelersburg, Ohio. She was born on November 13, 1962, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late John A. Sr and Sharlett (Barry) Skeens. She was a 1981 Graduate of Chesapeake High School. She attended Century College of Huntington, WV, and taught Fashion Merchandising there as well. She also taught Sunday school and volunteered at the Huntington City Mission. Vivian never had children, but she helped to raise her younger sister Brenda after their mother’s death. Brenda repaid all Vivian’s efforts and love by caring for her for many years during her battle with multiple sclerosis.
Vivian loved her family very much and always tried to offer advice and prayers when she had the chance. She is survived by sisters Brenda Skeens with whom she made her home, Veronica (Eddie) Hamlin of Chesapeake, Ohio, Billie Woods of Port Orange, Florida, brother John (Kelly) Skeens, Jr of Proctorville, Ohio, nieces Brandie (Keith Wallace) Henson of South Point, Ohio, Sharlett (Benjamin) Belhumeur of Flagler Beach, Florida and Misty (Ian) Lewis, of Port Orange, Florida, nephews Chris Hamlin and Seth (Kiana) Skeens of Chesapeake, Ohio, Adam (Courtney) Skeens, of St. Augustine Beach, Florida, great nieces Adalynd, Skiennagh, Emryn, Brigitta, Mila, Ellamae and Harper, great nephews, Matthew, Bradly and Lane, Aunts Lilly Johnson, Dyanna Collins and Cathy Porter, as well as her cat Daryl Dixon.
She will be buried next to her father at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington, WV. Private Family Services will be held. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com.
