Walter W. Brewer, Sr., 83, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio.He was born on April 16, 1940, in Logan County, WV, son of the late Robert and Bessie Runyon Brewer. In November 1964, Walter married Donna Nicely Brewer, who survives him in Gallipolis, Ohio. Walter was a construction foreman and heavy equipment operator for C J Hughes Construction.In addition to his wife, Walter is survived by two daughters, Shawn Riley of Point Pleasant, WV and Visa (Joe) Thompson of Chesapeake, Ohio; four sons, Walter W. Brewer, II of Chesapeake, Ohio, Oss Brewer of Gallipolis, Ohio, Ronald Brewer of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Robert Brewer of Gallipolis, Ohio; grandchildren, Steven (Michael) Waggoner of Barboursville, WV., Jacqueline (Charles) Kormanik of Gallipolis, Ohio, Brittani Brewer of Huntington, WV., Shyan Brewer of South Point, Ohio, Cory Brewer of Huntington, WV, Iszack Thompson of Chesapeake, Ohio and Dylan Cogar of Weston, WV, David Stover of Dayton, Ohio and Moriah Cline of Gallipolis, Ohio; great grandchildren, Jayden, Gage, MaKenzie, Whitney, Kaden, Abigail, Skyler, Levi, Orion, Paisley, Jaxon, Logan, Phoenix, Shylo, Addylin, Emma, Cameron, Cashton and Destiny; and a brother, Dave (Mary) Brewer of Crown City, Ohio.In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Brewer, Bertha Runyon, Frank Brewer, Thurrell Brewer, Carl Ray Brewer, Bruce Hall, John Brewer and Robert Brewer; a sister, Virgie Brewer; and grandsons, Daniel Brewer, Patrick Brewer, and Andrew Brewer.A graveside service and burial will be held 1 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2023, at The Brewer Family Cemetery, 2025 Jessie Creek Road, Bidwell, Ohio.
