William David Poynter's Obituary
William David Poynter, 87, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Monday September 29, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV. He was born February 9, 1938, in Huntington, WV son of the late Lonnie Delbert and Luvenia Cremeans Poynter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Amy Noel Poynter; two brothers Ronald “Buddy” Poynter and Roland “Hody” Poynter; three sisters Dessie Nichols, Marilyn Edmonds, and Gail Chapman; and son-in-law Steve Blackburn. He retired from AC&F Industries. He is survived by his wife Barbara Poynter; five daughters Sonia Blackburn of Barboursville, WV, Judy (David) Korstanje of Huntington, WV, Billie Sue Roby of Proctorville, Renee Poynter of Proctorville, and Jamie Nicole Poynter of Proctorville; seven grandchildren Brandy (Dennis) Andrus, Krista (Jason) McHenry, Billy (Taylor) Blackburn, Alex VonVille, Jace VonVille (Nadia), Payton VonVille, and Maddox VonVille; four great-grandchildren Jackson Brynlee, Logan, Claire; several nieces and nephews. Private family services will be held at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery Proctorville, Ohio.
