William Keith "Bill" Schwab, 53, of Ironton, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026, at Hospice of Huntington, in Huntington, WV. He was born April 26, 1972, in Ironton, OH to the late Keith Eddy Schwab and his loving mother, Brenda Sturgill Schwab. He left behind a legacy of strength, perseverance, and deep love for those around him. William was a fighter from the very beginning. At a young age, his life was forever changed by a football accident, setting the tone for a lifetime of resilience. Through every challenge that followed, including the hardships of becoming an amputee and later facing a battle with cancer, William never stopped fighting. His courage was not loud or boastful, but steady and unwavering, inspiring everyone who knew him. More than anything, William was known for his heart. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He cared deeply for others, always putting family, friends, and even strangers before himself. His kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on countless lives. William also was a fire protection technician. He had a deep love for bluegrass music, finding joy and comfort in its sound, which reflected his roots and the simple, meaningful things in life. Along with his loving mother Brenda Schwab, William is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Schwab; his beloved grandsons, Ryan and Carter Estep; his cherished daughter, Makayla Schwab; his brother, Scott Schwab; and his brother, Joshua Frye. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts. Though his journey was marked by hardship, William’s life was defined by his strength, his compassion, and his refusal to give up. His story is one of perseverance and love—a reminder to all who knew him of what it truly means to fight through life’s battles with courage and grace. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
