Wilma Curtis Slone's Obituary
Wilma V. Curtis Slone (Little MawMaw), 89, of Huntington, WV, went to be with the Lord on Friday December 7, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. Wilma was born December 23, 1928 in Huntington, WV daughter of the late Eusebius Ozias and Mary Simpkins Curtis. She graduated from Huntington East High School. She was a member of the old 2oth Street Baptist Church and most currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Chesapeake. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Augustus Slone and three sons Edgar Allen, James Jefferson, and Christopher Patrick Slone; a grandson, David Lee Anderson; one brother James E. Curtis; one sister Catherine Curtis Harbour; son-in-law Terry Lee Anderson; and former daughter-in-law Dianna Jo Fuller. Surviving are four children Joseph (Mary) Slone of Chesapeake, Ohio, Kathy L. Anderson of Huntington, WV, Rebecca (Gerald) Bates of South Point, Ohio, and Diane (Jerry) Perry of Huntington, WV; former son-in-law Ronald Leffingwell of Proctorville, Ohio; grandchildren Mindy (Wil) Breeden, Jessie (Joshua) Downing, Rebecca Anderson, Christopher Leffingwell, Jeremy Leffingwell, Daniel (Shana) Fraley, and Andrew (Rachel) Fraley; great-grandchildren Airiana Anderson, Alycia Bacon, Jordan Bacon, Maci Baird, Kyus Downing, Liam Breeden, Tanner, Trace, Titan, and Leighton Fraley. The family would like to thank Dr. Russell Snyder, staff of HIMG, the staff of Skilled Nursing Unit at St. Marys and a very special thank you to Hospice of Huntington. We greatly appreciate the care received from Darcy, Holly, and Willa for our mother with Hospice of Huntington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Huntington. . Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday December 10, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Ronnie Tyree officiating. Burial will follow in Getaway Cemetery, Chesapeake, Ohio. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
