Barbara Ann Graham's Obituary
Barbara Ann Graham, 84, passed away on 31 January 2024 in Huntington, WV. She was born on August 2, 1939 in Victoria, TX. She was the daughter of the late Edward Twining Humphreys and Mary Watrouse Humphreys. Following WWII, the family moved to Athens, Ohio where her father worked as the chemistry laboratory manager for Ohio University. She graduated high school from Athens High School in 1957 and from there attended and graduated from the Holzer Hospital School of Nursing in Gallipolis, Ohio as a Registered Nurse. After graduation from nursing school, she worked as a nurse at Holzer Hospital and as an instructor at the Holzer School of Nursing and was married to Benjamin McKinley from 1963 until 1990. As she continued her nursing career, she raised her family while earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University. In 1988, she moved to Columbus, Ohio and began working for the Ohio Department of Health as a Diabetes Educator. She retired in 1998 and enjoyed traveling the world. While residing in Columbus, she was married to Victor LaGrave from 1995 until his death in 2000 and Lloyd Graham from 2002 until his death in 2015. Later in 2015 she moved to the Woodlands Retirement Community in Huntington. She was also preceded in death by her sister Betsy Humphreys. She is survived by her two sons and families, William (Jill) McKinley and Brenden (Natalie) McKinley and grandchildren Megan, Kelsea, Sean, and Colin McKinley and special niece Cathy Jones (Ben). A memorial service and a small reception will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, Feb. 10th at the First Presbyterian Church, 1510 5th Ave, Huntington, WV. Barbara was known for her warm and friendly personality and her unique ability to build immediate and lasting friendships. She deeply loved her family and will be sorely missed. A special thanks goes to her adopted family - the staff of the Woodlands Retirement Community. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Parkinson's Foundation.
