Barbara Sue Thompson's Obituary
Barbara Sue Thompson, 65, of South Point, OH, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. She was born October 19, 1957 in Huntington, WV, the youngest daughter of the late Everett and Louella (Brammer) Christian. Barbara was a 1975 graduate of Chesapeake High School. She later worked for and retired from AEP and was a member of the Teresa Chapter #257 Order of the Eastern Star. To know Barbara was to love her. She wore her giant heart on her sleeve, was fiercely loyal and dedicated to her family. She had a radiant spirit that never failed to lift up those around her. While having only two sons, many lovingly called her "Mom". Though the passing of Barbara will weigh heavy on hearts far beyond those of her family, she had long hoped that those attending her memorial service would share fond memories and funny stories to celebrate her life rather than grieve over her loss. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Thompson; two sons, Bradley (Jessica) Chinn and James Randall (Cassie) Chinn; two sisters, Mary Lou (Ray) Haynes and Janet Lee Christian; three grandchildren, Ezra, Isaac and William Chinn; and one niece, LuAnn Hodges. The family would like to thank the staff at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their care. There will be a memorial service held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH officiated by Pastor Roger Pierce with the Eastern Star service starting at 1:45 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
