Charles Edward Snavely, 84 of Proctorville, OH went to be with the Lord October 6, 2023. Ed was born November 15, 1938, in Guntersville, AL to the late Herbert and Hazel Snavely. Ed is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Snavel Read Obituary
Dear Mary Beth, I have just learned of Ed's passing. I am so very sorry for your loss. I always loved Ed and the way he teased me when I was growing up. How wonderful to have shared 63 years together. You and your family are in my prayers for comfort.

It is with great sadness that I learned about my Uncle Ed's passing. I will fondly remember the times together with his family when I was growing up. While I did not see him as often as an adult, I will treasure the times that I did. One thing that never changed from my childhood interactions with Uncle Ed was his enjoyment in pulling the wool over my eyes (well not just me). He delighted in good naturedly fooling the unsuspecting, including my boyfriend (now husband), TJ when we visited Lake Guntersville. Uncle Ed always had a mischievous twinkle in his eye. Of my more recent memories, I will treasure most, dancing with my Uncle Ed with our two pairs of bad knees. He will be sorely missed by his family.

A wonderful man of honor and love of family and memories throughout his life. My neighbor for 19 years. Im thankful that he shared his experience of life with my children. They have the highest respect for him and his wonderful wife Ms Marybeth. We will all miss the love he gave us and his dedication to our neighborhood.

Losing a brother like Ed is heartbreaking because he was such a kind and caring man. I will treasure the wonderful memories I have of Ed both during childhood and as adults with families of our own. It was a comfort to know he was just a phone call away.
Not only was he a great brother-in-law to my husband Jim but a terrific fishing buddy as well. They went on many wonderful fishing trips together where they bonded.
